What is the climate like in Alaska?

Alaska’s climate varies significantly depending on the region, but it is generally cold and harsh. The coastal areas of Alaska, like Juneau and Anchorage, experience a more temperate maritime climate with mild winters and cool summers. However, much of the interior, including Fairbanks, experiences a subarctic climate with extremely cold winters, where temperatures can drop as low as -40°F (-40°C).
