How do polar bears live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 26

Polar bears are large carnivorous mammals found in the Arctic regions of North America, Europe, and Asia. They primarily inhabit sea ice, which they use to hunt for seals, their main food source. Polar bears are excellent swimmers and can cover long distances in search of food. They hunt primarily by waiting near breathing holes or breaking through the ice to catch seals. Polar bears need large amounts of food to maintain their body mass, especially during the colder months when they rely on fat stores for warmth. They typically eat about 1-2 seals per week. They are solitary animals, except during mating season. Polar bears reproduce by mating in spring, with females giving birth to 1-3 cubs in dens made from snow and ice. Cubs are born blind and rely on their mothers for warmth and nutrition for the first few months of life.
