How do frogs catch their prey?
89
Frogs catch their prey using their long, sticky tongues. The tongue is attached at the front of their mouth, allowing it to extend rapidly and reach prey at a distance. When a frog spots an insect, it flicks its tongue out with incredible speed—less than a second. The tongue’s sticky surface traps the prey, which is then quickly retracted into the mouth. Frogs also rely on their excellent vision to detect and target fast-moving insects.
