How do badgers live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 6

Badgers are small, nocturnal carnivores found in woodlands, grasslands, and even urban areas across Europe, North America, and parts of Asia. They live in burrows, known as setts, which they dig with their strong claws, and are highly territorial, often marking their boundaries with scent glands. Badgers are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of foods including small mammals, birds, insects, roots, and fruits. They are active primarily at night and spend much of the day in their burrows. Badgers are social creatures and often live in family groups, although they can be solitary when food is scarce. They reproduce sexually, with females giving birth to a litter of 1-5 kits after a gestation period of about 7-8 weeks. The kits are born blind and rely on their mother for nourishment until they are old enough to venture out of the sett.
