What causes hurricanes to form?
- ๐๏ธ 36
Hurricanes form over warm ocean waters when moist air rises and creates a low-pressure system. The warm air condenses into clouds, releasing heat and fuelling the storm. As the system grows, it begins to rotate due to the Coriolis effect, forming the characteristic spiral shape. Hurricanes gain strength from warm water and can cause devastating winds, heavy rainfall, and flooding when they make landfall. They are most common in tropical and subtropical regions.
