How do frogs survive in deserts?
- ๐๏ธ 22
Desert frogs survive by entering a state of dormancy called estivation during dry periods. They burrow into the ground and form a protective cocoon from layers of shed skin to conserve moisture. Frogs like the water-holding frog can store water in their bodies and absorb moisture through their skin. When rain arrives, they emerge to feed and reproduce rapidly. These adaptations allow them to thrive in harsh, arid environments.
