How do whales live?
- ๐๏ธ 7
Whales are large marine mammals found in oceans around the world, with species inhabiting both cold and warm waters. They are carnivorous, feeding primarily on fish, krill, and other marine creatures, with some species specializing in deep dives to catch squid. Baleen whales use baleen plates to filter small prey from the water, while toothed whales actively hunt for larger prey. Whales are social animals, often living in pods with complex social structures. They communicate using vocalizations and songs, especially among certain species like humpback whales. Whales reproduce by giving live birth, with females carrying their calves for 10-18 months, depending on the species. Calves nurse from their mothers for several months before being weaned.
