How do binturongs live?
- ๐๏ธ 28
Binturongs, also known as bearcats, are arboreal mammals native to Southeast Asia. They are nocturnal and omnivorous, feeding on a wide variety of foods, including fruits, small mammals, birds, and eggs. Binturongs are known for their prehensile tails, which they use to grasp branches and maintain balance as they move through the trees. They are solitary animals and live in dense forests, where they use their sharp claws to climb and navigate the canopy. Binturongs reproduce by giving birth to a single offspring after a gestation period of about 90 days. The young are cared for by the mother and remain in the nest for several months before becoming independent.
