How do quokkas live?

Quokkas are small marsupials native to Australia, primarily found on small islands off the coast of Western Australia, such as Rottnest Island. They are herbivores, feeding mainly on grasses, leaves, and shrubs. Quokkas are nocturnal animals, foraging for food at night and resting during the day. They are well known for their friendly and inquisitive nature, often coming close to humans without fear. Quokkas live alone or in small groups, and they are particularly social when food is plentiful. They are also capable of surviving in a variety of habitats, ranging from dense forests to open woodlands. Quokkas reproduce sexually, with females giving birth to a single joey after a gestation period of about 30 days. The joey stays in the mother’s pouch for 6 months before emerging and gradually becoming more independent.
