How do camels store water?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 43

Camels do not store water in their humps, as commonly believed. Instead, their humps store fat, which can be converted into energy and water when needed. Camels can survive for long periods without drinking by minimizing water loss. They are able to tolerate significant dehydration, and their kidneys and intestines are highly efficient at retaining water. When they do drink, they can consume large amounts of water at once, allowing them to replenish their fluids quickly after long periods without access to water.
