How do honeybees find flowers?
- ๐๏ธ 11
Honeybees find flowers by using their keen sense of sight and smell. They are attracted to bright colours, especially blue and yellow, and ultraviolet patterns on petals that guide them to nectar. Bees also have an excellent sense of smell, detecting floral scents from long distances. Once a bee finds a rich source of nectar, it performs a “waggle dance” back at the hive, communicating the location of the flowers to other bees. This dance conveys information about the distance and direction relative to the Sun, enabling the colony to work efficiently.
