Why do some animals have nocturnal behavior?
- ๐๏ธ 11
Nocturnal behavior in animals is primarily an adaptation to avoid daytime predators, reduce competition for food, and take advantage of cooler nighttime temperatures. Animals like owls, bats, and some rodents are adapted to hunt, forage, or navigate in low-light conditions. Their specialized eyes have enhanced rods, which help them see in the dark. Nocturnal behavior also conserves energy for some species, as nighttime activity allows them to remain cooler and reduce water loss.
