How do willets live?
- ๐๏ธ 33
Willets are large shorebirds found along coastlines, particularly in North and South America. They are often seen in mudflats, marshes, and beaches, where they forage for small invertebrates like crabs, mollusks, and worms. Willets use their long, straight bills to probe the mud or sand for food. These birds are migratory, breeding in coastal areas during the warmer months and migrating to southern coastal regions during the winter. Willets are often seen in small groups or alone, and they communicate with calls and whistles. They reproduce by building nests on the ground, where the female lays 3-4 eggs. Both parents take turns incubating the eggs and protecting the chicks after they hatch.
