How do polar bears hunt for food?
- ๐๏ธ 8
Polar bears hunt primarily by stalking seals on sea ice. They use their keen sense of smell to locate seal breathing holes and wait patiently for hours until a seal surfaces. Polar bears also break through ice to access seals resting in snow dens. During the summer, when ice is scarce, they may scavenge on carcasses or hunt smaller prey like birds and fish. Their white fur provides excellent camouflage, allowing them to approach prey undetected.
