How do moose live?
- ๐๏ธ 12
Moose are large herbivorous mammals found in forests and tundra regions across North America, Europe, and Asia. They are solitary animals, often found near water sources such as lakes, rivers, and wetlands. Moose are primarily herbivores, feeding on aquatic plants, shrubs, leaves, and trees, especially birch, willow, and pine. They require a significant amount of food to sustain their large size, consuming up to 40 kilograms of vegetation daily during the summer months. Moose are generally solitary but come together during the mating season. Mating typically occurs in the fall, and after a gestation period of about 8 months, the female gives birth to a single calf. The calves stay with their mother for several months before becoming more independent.
