How do pronghorns live?
- ๐๏ธ 17
Pronghorns are herbivorous mammals found in North America, primarily in grasslands, prairies, and deserts. They are known for their incredible speed, capable of running at speeds of up to 55 mph (88 km/h), making them the second-fastest land animals after cheetahs. Pronghorns are social animals, typically found in small groups that consist of females and their offspring, while males may form bachelor groups or be solitary. They feed on grasses, shrubs, and forbs, and they are often seen grazing in open spaces where they can easily spot potential predators. Pronghorns have keen eyesight, allowing them to detect predators from great distances. They reproduce sexually, with females giving birth to a single fawn after a gestation period of about 250 days. The fawns are able to stand and walk shortly after birth and stay with their mothers for several months.
