How do sea horses reproduce?
- ๐๏ธ 11
Sea horses have a unique reproductive process in which the males carry and give birth to the offspring. During mating, the female sea horse transfers her eggs into the maleโs brood pouch, where the eggs are fertilized. The male then carries the eggs until they hatch into tiny seahorse fry. Once fully developed, the male gives birth by expelling the young from his pouch. This process is a rare example of male pregnancy in the animal kingdom.
