How do sea horses live?

Seahorses are small, marine fish found in shallow coastal waters, including coral reefs, seagrass beds, and mangrove swamps. They are known for their upright swimming posture and unique horse-like head. Seahorses are carnivores, feeding primarily on tiny plankton, shrimp, and small crustaceans, which they catch using their long, tubular snouts. They are slow swimmers and rely on their excellent camouflage to blend in with their environment to avoid predators. Seahorses are also notable for their unique reproductive behavior—males carry the fertilized eggs in a specialized brood pouch until they hatch. The male gives birth to fully formed, miniature seahorses, which are independent from birth. Seahorses are generally solitary, but they may form small groups when food is abundant. They reproduce sexually, and the eggs are incubated in the male’s pouch for about 10-25 days, depending on the species.
