How do ocelots live?
- ๐๏ธ 11
Ocelots are small wild cats native to the Americas, particularly in the rainforests of Central and South America. They are solitary animals and are primarily nocturnal, hunting at night. Ocelots are carnivores, preying on small mammals, birds, reptiles, and occasionally fish. They are excellent climbers and swimmers, often hunting in trees or along riverbanks. Ocelots communicate with scent markings and vocalizations. Mating occurs year-round, with females giving birth to 1-3 kittens after a gestation period of about 2.5 months. The young are cared for by the mother until they are old enough to hunt on their own.
