How do cheetahs maintain their speed during a sprint?
- ๐๏ธ 11
Cheetahs maintain their incredible speed during a sprint thanks to their unique physiology. They have a lightweight, flexible body and long, muscular legs that allow for long strides. Their spine is highly flexible, allowing them to stretch their body out while running at full speed. Cheetahs also have large nasal passages to take in more oxygen and specialized pads on their feet for traction. Despite their explosive speed, cheetahs can only maintain this pace for a short distance, typically around 200 to 300 meters.
