How do bushmasters live?
- ๐๏ธ 6
Bushmasters are venomous pit vipers native to the rainforests of Central and South America. They are solitary and nocturnal, preferring to stay hidden during the day in dense underbrush or beneath rocks. Bushmasters are ambush predators, relying on their camouflage to stay undetected while waiting for prey, which includes rodents, birds, and lizards. They use their venom to immobilize and digest their prey. Bushmasters are large snakes and can grow to over 3 meters in length. They reproduce by laying eggs, and after a gestation period, the young hatch as fully developed snakes capable of hunting on their own.
