How do squirrels live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 6

Squirrels are small rodents found in a variety of habitats, from forests and grasslands to urban areas around the world. They are primarily herbivores, feeding on nuts, seeds, fruits, and fungi, but they may also eat insects and bird eggs. Squirrels are excellent climbers and spend much of their time in trees, building nests called dreys from twigs and leaves. They are known for their habit of gathering and storing food, particularly acorns, to prepare for the winter months when food is scarce. Squirrels are social creatures, often seen in groups, and they communicate using vocalizations and body language. They reproduce sexually, with females giving birth to 2-8 offspring in a single litter after a gestation period of about 44 days. The young squirrels are dependent on their mothers for the first few months before becoming independent.
