How do cheetahs reach such high speeds?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 3

Cheetahs are the fastest land animals, reaching speeds of up to 98 km/h (61 mph) in short bursts. Their incredible speed is due to their lightweight bodies, long legs, and flexible spine, which allows for a longer stride. Cheetahs also have large nasal passages that enable them to take in more oxygen during a sprint. Their adrenal glands release a surge of energy to power the sprint, while specialized pads on their feet help with traction. Cheetahs are built for explosive speed, though they can only maintain their top velocity for a short distance.
