Why do some animals have nocturnal habits?

Nocturnal habits are common in animals that need to avoid predators, conserve energy, or hunt in low-light conditions. Animals like owls, bats, and some species of rodents are active during the night when temperatures are cooler, and predators are less active. Many nocturnal animals, such as moths and certain amphibians, have evolved specialized adaptations, like enhanced night vision or the ability to echolocate, to help them navigate and hunt in the dark. Nighttime also provides them with a quieter environment in which to find food and reproduce.
