How do camels store water in their bodies?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 5

Camels are well-adapted to survive in desert environments, and while they do not store water in their humps, they are able to conserve it effectively. Their humps store fat, which can be converted into water and energy when needed. Camels can go for long periods without drinking by reducing their water loss through sweating, and their kidneys are highly efficient at conserving water. They also produce dry feces and concentrated urine, minimizing fluid loss. When camels do drink, they can consume large amounts of water at once to rehydrate.
