How do vaquitas live?

Vaquitas are small, critically endangered marine mammals found in the northern part of the Gulf of California, Mexico. They are primarily carnivorous, feeding on fish, crustaceans, and small invertebrates. Vaquitas are solitary animals, rarely seen in groups, and they inhabit shallow coastal waters, where they are difficult to spot. They are known for their elusive nature and are considered one of the most endangered marine mammals, with fewer than 10 individuals believed to remain in the wild. Vaquitas reproduce once every 2 years, with females giving birth to a single calf after a gestation period of about 10-11 months. Calves stay with their mothers for several years before becoming independent.
