How do octopuses escape from predators?
- 👁️ 6
Octopuses have several defence mechanisms to evade predators. They can eject a cloud of ink, creating a smokescreen that obscures the predator’s view and allows the octopus to escape. They are also masters of camouflage, able to rapidly change their skin colour and texture to blend in with their environment. Additionally, octopuses are highly flexible and can squeeze into tight spaces, allowing them to hide from danger. In extreme cases, they can also detach an arm to distract a predator while they escape.
