How do warty sea cucumbers live?
- ๐๏ธ 7
Warty sea cucumbers are marine invertebrates found in the oceans of the Indo-Pacific region. They live on the ocean floor, often in sandy or muddy environments, where they feed on organic matter, including decaying plant and animal material, using their tentacle-like structures to gather food. Sea cucumbers are detritivores, playing an important role in cleaning up the ocean floor by consuming detritus. They are solitary creatures, and while some species are able to move slowly, others burrow into the substrate to stay protected. Sea cucumbers reproduce by releasing eggs and sperm into the water, where fertilization occurs externally. The larvae eventually settle on the ocean floor and mature into adults.
