How do puffins live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 6

Puffins are seabirds found along the coasts of the North Atlantic Ocean, including regions of Europe, North America, and Iceland. They are excellent swimmers and divers, using their wings to propel themselves underwater in search of fish, their primary diet. Puffins are also capable of catching multiple fish at once by holding them in their beaks. During the breeding season, puffins return to land to nest in burrows or crevices on cliffs. They are highly social and often nest in colonies, where they engage in elaborate courtship displays. Puffins typically lay one egg, and both parents take turns incubating it. After the chick hatches, both parents feed it until it is old enough to fledge and start foraging on its own.
