How do spoonbills live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 10

Spoonbills are wading birds found in wetlands, estuaries, and coastal areas across Europe, Asia, Africa, and the Americas. They are omnivores, feeding primarily on fish, crustaceans, and aquatic insects, which they catch with their distinctive spoon-shaped bills. Spoonbills are social birds, often found in colonies and sometimes foraging in groups. They are known for their graceful foraging technique, using their bills to sift through mud and shallow waters for food. Spoonbills reproduce once a year, with females laying 2-5 eggs in a nest built in trees or on the ground. Both parents take turns incubating the eggs and feeding the chicks after they hatch.
