When did the UK become a unified country?

The United Kingdom was officially formed in 1707 with the union of the Kingdom of England and the Kingdom of Scotland under the Act of Union. This union created the Kingdom of Great Britain. Later, in 1801, the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland was established with the addition of Ireland. However, after the Irish War of Independence, Ireland became a separate entity in 1922, and the country was renamed the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland. The UK has since maintained this political structure.
