What is the function of the nervous system?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 7

The nervous system controls and coordinates all bodily functions, including movement, sensation, thought, and vital processes like breathing. It consists of the central nervous system (CNS), which includes the brain and spinal cord, and the peripheral nervous system (PNS), which connects the CNS to the rest of the body. Neurons, or nerve cells, transmit electrical signals to and from different parts of the body. The nervous system also processes information from the senses, enabling quick reactions to external stimuli. It plays a crucial role in maintaining homeostasis and overall health.
