  • 👁️ 8

The world’s largest cave is the Son Doong Cave, located in Vietnam’s Phong Nha-Kẻ Bàng National Park. Discovered in 1991, the cave has a main passage that is over 5.5 kilometers (3.4 miles) long and reaches heights of up to 200 meters (656 feet). The cave contains its own ecosystem, with large chambers that host unique species, underground rivers, and lush vegetation. Son Doong Cave is so large that it has its own weather system and can fit an entire New York City block inside its largest chambers.
