What is the function of the lymphatic system?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 9

The lymphatic system is part of the circulatory and immune systems. Its primary function is to transport lymph, a clear fluid containing white blood cells, which help fight infections. The lymphatic system also plays a role in maintaining fluid balance by returning excess tissue fluid to the bloodstream. Additionally, it helps in the absorption of fatty acids and fat-soluble vitamins from the digestive system. Lymph nodes filter harmful substances and store white blood cells to help protect the body from illness.
