The world’s largest waterfall by flow rate is the Inga Falls on the Congo River in the Democratic Republic of the Congo. However, the tallest waterfall in the world is Angel Falls (Salto Ángel), located in Venezuela. Angel Falls has an uninterrupted drop of 979 metres (3,212 feet) from the Auyán-Tepui plateau. It is named after Jimmie Angel, the aviator who first flew over it in 1933. This natural wonder is part of Canaima National Park, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, and is one of Venezuela’s most famous landmarks.
