Who invented the electric bulb and when?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 24

The electric lightbulb, in its practical form, was invented by Thomas Edison in 1879. While other inventors, such as Humphry Davy and Joseph Swan, had worked on electric lighting, Edison was the first to create a commercially viable and long-lasting bulb by developing a vacuum inside the glass and using carbon filaments that burned for extended periods. His invention revolutionized the way people lit their homes and workplaces, and it laid the foundation for the development of electric power grids that became vital to modern cities.
