Who invented the dish rack and when?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 11

The dish rack, a simple yet essential household item for drying dishes, was invented by Josephine Cochrane in 1886, the same inventor who created the first practical dishwasher. Cochrane developed a system to hold dishes upright while they dried, improving the efficiency and convenience of kitchen cleaning. Although dish racks have evolved in design over time, including materials like stainless steel, plastic, and wood, the concept of the dish rack as a means to dry dishes and organize kitchenware remains largely the same.
