Who invented the telephone?
- ๐๏ธ 21
The telephone was invented by Alexander Graham Bell in 1876. Bell was granted the first US patent for an “improvement in telegraphy” on March 7 of that year. He demonstrated the first practical telephone by transmitting the famous phrase, “Mr Watson, come here, I want to see you.” Bell’s invention revolutionised global communication, allowing people to converse over long distances. Over time, the telephone evolved from rotary models to push-button designs and eventually to modern smartphones. Bell’s work laid the foundation for the telecommunications industry as we know it today.
