Why do we experience seasons?
- ๐๏ธ 12
Seasons occur due to the tilt of the Earth’s axis, which is inclined at approximately 23.5 degrees relative to its orbit around the Sun. As Earth orbits the Sun, different parts of the planet receive varying amounts of sunlight. When the Northern Hemisphere is tilted toward the Sun, it experiences summer, while the Southern Hemisphere experiences winter, and vice versa. The equinoxes and solstices mark key points in the seasonal cycle. This axial tilt and the Earth’s rotation combine to create predictable seasonal patterns that influence ecosystems and human activities.
