Why do some animals have a nocturnal lifestyle?
- ๐๏ธ 10
Nocturnal animals are adapted to thrive in low-light conditions, often to avoid predators and minimize competition for resources. Many nocturnal creatures, such as owls, bats, and certain species of rodents, have specialized eyes with enhanced rods that help them see in the dark. These animals also tend to have heightened senses, such as acute hearing or echolocation, which help them navigate and hunt during the night. Being active at night also helps them conserve energy and stay cooler in environments where daytime temperatures are extreme.
