How do walruses live?

Walruses are large, semi-aquatic mammals found in the Arctic and sub-Arctic regions of North America, Europe, and Russia. They live in coastal areas, typically on ice floes or rocky shores, and spend much of their time in the water. Walruses are carnivores, feeding on benthic invertebrates such as clams, snails, and crabs. They are equipped with tusks, which they use for hauling themselves out of the water and onto ice or land. Walruses are social animals and live in large herds, sometimes numbering in the thousands, where they communicate through vocalizations and physical displays. They are also known to form strong bonds with their family members. Walruses reproduce sexually, with females giving birth to a single calf after a gestation period of 15-16 months. The calf stays with its mother for about two years, nursing and learning essential survival skills.
