How do giraffes eat from tall trees?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 13

Giraffes have long necks and prehensile tongues that help them reach and feed on the leaves of tall trees. Their tongues, which can extend up to 45 centimeters (18 inches), are specially adapted to grasp and pull leaves from high branches, particularly acacia trees. Giraffes feed primarily on the foliage of these trees and can browse at heights that other herbivores cannot reach. Their long necks also allow them to survey their surroundings for predators while feeding.
