Why do some animals use camouflage to hunt?
- ๐๏ธ 9
Some predators, like the anglerfish and certain species of octopus, use camouflage to blend in with their surroundings and ambush their prey. By mimicking the environment, they avoid detection by their prey, allowing them to get closer before launching an attack. For example, the anglerfish uses a glowing lure on its head to attract smaller fish into striking range. Camouflage helps these animals be more efficient hunters, conserving energy and increasing their chances of success.
