Why do camels have thick eyelashes?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 9

Camels have thick eyelashes to protect their eyes from sand and dust in their desert environments. Their long, dense lashes act as a barrier against blowing sand and also help to shield their eyes from intense sunlight. Additionally, camels have a third eyelid, called a nictitating membrane, which can sweep debris from their eyes. These adaptations allow camels to thrive in harsh desert conditions, where sandstorms and strong sunlight are common.
