How do peacocks live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 57

Peacocks, also known as Indian Peafowl, are large, colorful birds found in the forests of India and Sri Lanka, as well as in parts of Southeast Asia. The males are known for their impressive, iridescent tail feathers, which they display to attract females during the mating season. Peafowls are omnivorous, feeding on a variety of seeds, fruits, insects, and small reptiles. They are ground-dwelling birds, often foraging in open areas but roosting in trees at night for safety. Peafowls are social animals, living in small groups or harems, where a dominant male mates with several females. Mating occurs during the breeding season, and after a gestation period of about 28 days, the female lays 3-5 eggs, which she incubates alone.
