How does a plane fly?
- ๐๏ธ 5
A plane flies by generating lift, which is created when air moves over and under its wings. The curved shape of the wings, called an airfoil, causes air to move faster over the top surface than underneath. According to Bernoulliโs principle, this difference in airspeed creates lower pressure on top and higher pressure below, lifting the plane into the air. The engines provide thrust to propel the plane forward, overcoming drag, which is the resistance of air. Pilots control the direction and stability of the plane using flaps, ailerons, rudders, and elevators. Modern aviation relies on these principles for safe and efficient air travel.
