How do chickens live?
- ๐๏ธ 7
Chickens are domesticated birds found worldwide, often living on farms or in backyards. They are omnivores, eating a variety of foods, including grains, seeds, insects, and even small animals like worms. Chickens live in flocks, with a clear pecking order that determines dominance. They are highly social birds, and their behavior includes dust bathing, foraging, and vocalizing. Hens lay eggs regularly, with a typical clutch size of 10-12 eggs, which they incubate for about 21 days before hatching. After hatching, chicks are cared for by the mother, or in commercial farming environments, by artificial incubators until they are old enough to be independent.
