How do wapiti live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 7

Wapiti, also known as elk, are large herbivores found in North America and parts of Asia. They live in forests, grasslands, and mountainous areas, where they feed on grasses, shrubs, and trees. Wapiti are social animals, typically living in herds that consist of females and their young, with males joining the herds during the mating season. They are active during the early morning and late evening, avoiding the hottest parts of the day. Wapiti reproduce once a year, with females giving birth to a single calf after a gestation period of about 8-9 months. The calf stays close to its mother for protection until it becomes independent.
