Why do some animals use camouflage?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 11

Camouflage helps animals avoid predators by blending into their surroundings. This evolutionary adaptation makes them harder to detect, increasing their chances of survival. Animals use various forms of camouflage, including colour matching, disruptive patterns, and mimicry. For example, a stick insect resembles twigs, and a snowshoe hare changes its coat colour to blend with snowy landscapes. Camouflage can also help predators ambush prey, as seen with animals like the jaguar, which uses spots to blend into forested environments.
