How do tarsiers live?

  • ๐Ÿ‘๏ธ 9

Tarsiers are small primates found in Southeast Asia, particularly in the Philippines, Borneo, and Sumatra. They are insectivorous, primarily feeding on insects like crickets, beetles, and grasshoppers, which they catch using their powerful hind legs. Tarsiers are nocturnal, using their large eyes to see in low-light conditions and their strong sense of hearing to locate prey. They are solitary or live in small family groups, with each tarsier defending its own territory. Tarsiers reproduce once a year, with females giving birth to a single offspring after a gestation period of about 6 months. The young are highly dependent on their mothers for the first few months of life.
